Carpenter positions in Al Ain

As per the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), the basic salary for a carpenter in the employment contract must be at least AED 4,000 per month if accommodation is provided by the employer, or AED 5,000 if not, as of 2026. This threshold is required for work permit approval under Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021. Salaries below this may lead to permit rejection.

Foreign carpenters need a job offer from a MOHRE-registered UAE employer, who applies for a temporary work permit valid for 60 days within 10 days of contract approval, as of 2026. The worker must then undergo medical fitness test, Emirates ID biometrics, and visa stamping within 60 days. Full work residence permit is issued for up to 3 years.

No formal education like high school diploma is mandatory for carpenters, but a minimum of 2 years verifiable experience in carpentry is required, with skills certificate attested by the worker's home country authority as of 2026. Employers verify via MOHRE-approved trade tests if needed. Unskilled laborers without experience are ineligible for skilled carpenter classification.

Required documents include passport valid for 6 months, 4 passport-sized photos, attested academic and experience certificates, employment contract approved by MOHRE, and medical fitness certificate from approved center, as of 2026. The employer submits via MOHRE online portal within 7 days of hiring. Processing takes 5-7 working days for permit issuance.
