Cleaner/Housekeeping

As per the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), the minimum basic salary for entry-level cleaning staff under the standard employment contract is 1,500 AED per month as of 2026. This includes end-of-service gratuity calculated at 21 days' basic salary per year of service. Accommodation and transport allowances add 500 AED monthly.

Foreign workers require an employer-sponsored residence visa under Category Green or Blue Collar for cleaning roles, valid for 3 years from 2026. The employer applies via MOHRE after job offer, with processing fee of 300 AED per permit. Medical examination and Emirates ID are mandatory within 30 days of arrival.

No formal education beyond secondary school is required for cleaning staff positions as per MOHRE classification for unskilled labor Category 5. Zero to 6 months of prior experience suffices for entry-level roles. Proficiency test in basic hygiene practices may be conducted by employers.

Required documents include passport valid for 6 months, 4 passport photos, attested job offer letter, and medical fitness certificate costing 320 AED. Employer submits work permit application via MOHRE online portal within 7 days of arrival. Labour card fee is 200 AED annually.
