Plumbers

As per the Ministry of Economy, entry-level plumbers in the UAE earn AED 2,800 to AED 4,000 per month as of 2026. Experienced plumbers with 5+ years earn AED 5,000 to AED 7,500 monthly. All salaries must be paid through the Wage Protection System monthly.

Employers apply for a work permit via MOHRE portal costing AED 600 for 2 years validity as of 2026. Foreign plumbers must pass a medical fitness test costing AED 350 and obtain residency visa stamped for AED 1,075 including Emirates ID. The permit is tied to the sponsoring employer.

A vocational diploma or ITI certificate in plumbing attested by the home country's authorities plus 2 years verifiable experience is required for MOHRE approval as of 2026. High school graduates with 4 years plumbing experience also qualify. No degree is mandatory for this trade.

Required documents include passport copy valid for 6 months, 4 passport photos, attested plumbing certificates, MOHRE-approved employment contract, and prior work experience letters. Employer submits online to MOHRE with labor quota approval. Processing takes 5-10 working days.
