Foreigners require an employer-sponsored employment residence visa valid for 2 or 3 years, starting with a 60-day work entry permit from MOHRE. The process includes medical fitness test (AED 370 fee), security clearance, and Emirates ID application (AED 100-370). Employers cover all costs exceeding AED 5,000 total.
Q What education or experience is required for chef jobs in UAE restaurants?
For the 'cook' profession (ISCO code 5120), MOHRE requires completion of high school education and minimum 2 years of relevant experience for work permit approval.
