The OpportunityJoin Ventia, in partnership with Viva Energy, as a general maintenance tradesperson (Welder / Boilermaker / Pipefitter). In this role, you will deliver essential maintenance services to ensure the Clyde and Gore Bay Terminal assets remain safe, reliable, and fully operational.You will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance, including repairing, restoring, and maintaining assets that have deteriorated or been impacted during other works. The position also offers the opportunity to contribute to occasional project-based activities, providing variety and scope to broaden your experience.Why Join Us?Competitive hourly rate plus allowances and unlimited overtime opportunities.Enjoy a 9-day fortnight, with every second Monday off (RDO).Clear pathway to permanent employment based on performance in a short timeframe.A supportive work environment that prioritises quality, safety, and attention to detail over speed.Secure, long-term contract with a well-established track record.Access to a wide range of employee benefits through Ventia, including discounted private health insurance, paid parental leave, travel deals, and more.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform boilermaking and pipefitting to maintain, repair, and upgrade plant, piping, and structural assets.Dismantle, inspect, clean, repair, and reassemble plant equipment.Interpret technical drawings and complete fabrication mark-ups (piping and structural).Execute trade tasks including cutting, grinding, welding (GMAW, TIG, stick), fabrication, and heat treatment.Assemble, align, and install mechanical components and piping systems.Conduct equipment testing (including hydrostatic testing) to ensure performance and compliance.Maintain and repair pumps, motors, gearboxes, and associated equipment.Perform pre-start safety analyses and ensure compliance with site, quality, and WHS requirements.Safely work with high-pressure systems and hazardous substances.Collaborate with team members, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver work efficiently.Complete all required documentation, including permits, risk assessments, JSAs, and job records.About YouHold a minimum of AS 1796 Certificate 7 (or equivalent).Demonstrate strong experience in piping and fabrication.Be a reliable team player with a willingness to learn and adapt to both project and maintenance work.Possess relevant high-risk work tickets, including confined spaces and working at heights.Hold a valid Driver’s Licence and White Card.About VentiaVentia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand.
