Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced and reliable Industrial Cleaning Supervisor to manage cleaning operations for a large facility in **Toronto, Ontario, CA**. This role requires a hands-on approach, with responsibility for overseeing a team of cleaning staff, ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety, and managing cleaning schedules and supplies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial cleaning methods, knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment, and excellent leadership skills. You will be responsible for training new staff, conducting site inspections, and maintaining detailed records of cleaning activities. Responsibilities: Supervise and direct the daily activities of the industrial cleaning team. Develop and implement effective cleaning schedules and procedures for all areas of the facility. Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation. Train new cleaning staff on proper techniques, safety procedures, and the use of equipment and chemicals. Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify cleaning needs and ensure compliance with standards. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ordering as needed and ensuring efficient use. Implement and enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for the team. Address any cleaning-related issues or concerns promptly and efficiently. Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, inspections, and staff performance. Collaborate with facility management to coordinate special cleaning projects and requirements. Motivate and lead the cleaning team to achieve performance goals and maintain high morale. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial or commercial cleaning, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Proven knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and best practices for industrial environments. Understanding of health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to train and motivate a team. Experience with scheduling and inventory management. Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks when necessary and oversee operations on foot. Reliability and a strong work ethic. First Aid and WHMIS certification is a plus.
