Job Title: Welder and Fabricator

Job Description

This role focuses on welding, fitting, and full-scope fabrication for custom projects and one-off items, primarily working with lighter gauge metals such as aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel. You will handle a mix of finishing and custom work, including material preparation, grinding, and operating fabrication machinery in a smaller, team-oriented shop environment.

Responsibilities
• Perform welding, fitting, and full-scope fabrication for custom projects and miscellaneous one-off items.
• Weld light gauge metals, including carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, with a focus on high-quality finishing work.
• Carry out daily grinding and material preparation to support fabrication activities.
• Operate fabrication machinery and equipment safely and efficiently to complete custom builds.
• Use TIG and flux core welding processes as required for different materials and project specifications.
• Interpret project requirements and contribute to practical fabrication solutions for unique and custom pieces.
• Handle and move materials using overhead cranes and sit-down forklifts in a safe and controlled manner.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all shop safety procedures and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with a small, tight-knit team to complete projects on time and to a high standard.
• Engage in continual learning and problem solving to improve fabrication techniques and support ongoing growth.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
• CWB FLUXCORE or CWB GMAW certification or experience is an asset.
• Experience working in a smaller shop environment with custom and varied work.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a small, close-knit team.
• Adaptability and interest in handling a wide variety of fabrication tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finished work.

Work Environment

You will work in a smaller shop environment with approximately 16 team members, offering plenty of room to grow and learn directly on the floor. Daily work involves the use of welding equipment, grinding tools, fabrication machinery, overhead cranes, and sit-down forklifts. The shop culture emphasizes collaboration, continual learning, and problem solving, providing a supportive space to develop and refine your trade skills.

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.
