About Us

We are a busy and growing welding and steel fabrication shop based in Calgary, committed to maintaining a safe, productive, and professional work environment. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to lead and support our health and safety program.

Key Responsibilities
β€’ Develop, implement, and maintain company health and safety policies and procedures
β€’ Conduct regular shop inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits
β€’ Ensure compliance with Alberta OHS legislation and industry standards
β€’ Lead incident investigations and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions
β€’ Coordinate and deliver safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks
β€’ Maintain safety records, certifications, and documentation
β€’ Work closely with management and shop staff to promote a strong safety culture
β€’ Assist in WCB claims management and return-to-work programs

Qualifications
β€’ Previous experience in a Safety Officer role, preferably in welding, fabrication, or construction
β€’ Strong knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health & Safety regulations
β€’ COR certification or working towards it is an asset
β€’ First Aid certification (required)
β€’ Excellent communication and leadership skills
β€’ Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
β€’ Ability to work independently and in a team environment
