Office Boy/ Peon (New Delhi)

As per the Maharashtra Labour Department notification dated 1 January 2026, the minimum wage for unskilled workers like Office Boy in Zone I is ₹21,500 per month, comprising basic wage of ₹14,200 and Variable Dearness Allowance of ₹7,300. This rate applies to establishments under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948. Overtime is payable at twice the ordinary rate for work beyond 9 hours per day.

Under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, no minimum education qualification is required for Office Boy roles classified as unskilled labour. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and physically fit for tasks like cleaning and errands. Experience is not mandatory for entry-level positions.

Applicants need Aadhaar card, PAN card, bank account details, and two passport-size photos as per standard employment verification under the Shops and Establishments Act. For establishments with 10+ workers, EPF enrollment requires these documents post-hiring. No educational certificates are needed for unskilled roles.

Under the Shops and Establishments Acts across states, Office Boys work maximum 9 hours per day and 48 hours per week with one weekly off on Sunday. Employees get 12 days paid annual leave after 240 days of service and 8 days casual/sick leave. Overtime beyond 48 hours is compensated at double rate.
