As per the Delhi Department of Labour, the minimum wage for skilled plumbers in Delhi is ₹26,499 per month effective January 1, 2026, including basic rate of ₹22,409 plus Variable Dearness Allowance of ₹4,090. Overtime beyond 9 hours per day or 48 hours per week is paid at twice the ordinary rate of ₹147 per hour. This applies to establishments under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.

A National Trade Certificate (NTC) in Plumber trade from ITI after 8th class plus 1-year training is mandatory, with minimum 1 year experience for junior roles as of 2026. Candidates aged 18-35 years are eligible for Craftsman Training Scheme programs. Higher roles require 3 years experience and SCVT/NCVT certification.
