Bus Driver

As per the Public Authority for Manpower, the minimum recruitable salary for light vehicle drivers is 220 KWD per month as of January 2026. Overtime pay is 1.25 times the hourly rate for the first 2 hours daily and double thereafter. Contracts must include accommodation or 50 KWD housing allowance.

Foreign drivers need a work residence visa sponsored by a Kuwaiti employer, approved via the PAM portal, valid for 1-3 years as of 2026. Requirements include a job offer, medical fitness certificate costing 10 KWD, and police clearance. Processing takes 2-4 weeks after employer submission.

No formal education is required, but applicants must have at least 2 years of heavy vehicle driving experience and a valid home country license convertible to Kuwaiti Category D license. Age must be 21-60 years. A clean driving record is mandatory per regulations.

Required documents include a valid passport copy, attested driving license, 4 passport photos, medical report from approved clinic (cost 25 KWD), and employment contract. Submit via PAM's Tameen app or office. Approval grants work permit number within 5 working days.
