Building Guard

As per the Public Authority for Manpower, the minimum wage for non-Kuwaiti security guards in the private sector is KWD 90 per month as of January 2026. Salaries typically range from KWD 250 to KWD 400 including allowances for experienced guards. Overtime is paid at 1.25 times the hourly rate for hours exceeding 48 per week.

Foreign applicants require a work visa (Article 18) sponsored by a licensed Kuwaiti employer, processed via the Ministry of Interior's Residency Affairs. The visa costs KWD 15 and is valid for 3 years, renewable. Security guards must obtain a residency permit within 3 months of arrival.

Candidates must be at least 21 years old, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, and have no criminal record, as stipulated by the Public Authority for Manpower. At least 1 year of relevant experience is required for non-Kuwaitis. Physical fitness certification from a government clinic is mandatory.

Required documents include a valid passport, attested high school certificate, medical fitness report, police clearance, and 6 passport photos, submitted via the employer's PAM inquiry on the Public Authority for Manpower portal. Applications must be filed within 3 months of job offer. Processing takes 2-4 weeks.
