Quick answers about Packing Jobs

Q What is the minimum wage for packing jobs in Oman in 2026?
As per the Ministry of Labour, the minimum wage for unskilled Omani workers in packing roles is 400 OMR per month as of January 2026. This applies to Category 7 workers under Ministerial Decision No. 54/2013 as amended. Foreign workers' wages are set by contract but must not be below 350 OMR monthly.
Q What work visa do I need for a packing job in Oman as a foreigner?
Foreigners require a work residence visa (Iqama) sponsored by an Omani employer, valid for 2 years and renewable. The employer applies for a work permit via the Ministry of Labour portal first, then submits visa application to ROP with job offer and medical test. Processing takes 5-10 working days and costs 20 OMR in fees.
Q What qualifications do I need for entry-level packing jobs in Oman?
No formal education is required for basic packing jobs, but completion of secondary school (Grade 12) is preferred. Employers typically seek 1 year of warehouse or manufacturing experience. Omani nationals under 21 need parental consent for employment.
Q What documents are needed to apply for a packing job work permit in Oman?
Required documents include passport copy valid 6+ months, 4 photos, job offer letter, medical fitness certificate from approved clinic (cost 25 OMR), and police clearance. Employer submits via MOL e-service portal. Approval grants electronic work permit within 48 hours.
