Plumber

As per the Ministry of Labour, the minimum monthly salary for skilled plumbers (Category III workers) in the private sector is OMR 500 as of January 2026. This includes basic wage plus allowances, with overtime paid at 125% of hourly rate beyond 8 hours daily. Employers must pay via the Wage Protection System.

Foreign plumbers need a sponsor employer to apply for a work residence visa (Iqama) valid for 2 years, renewable, costing OMR 20 application fee plus OMR 100 for labour card. The process requires MOL approval within 14 days of entry. Visa issuance takes 5-10 working days via ROP e-services.

No formal education degree is required, but applicants must have at least 2 years of verifiable plumbing experience and pass a trade test if needed. Omanis under 18 need guardian approval. Certification from an accredited vocational institute strengthens applications.

Required documents include passport copy valid 6+ months, 4 photos, experience certificates, medical fitness report (OMR 20 fee), and police clearance. Employer submits via MOL portal with job offer letter. Processing completes in 7-14 days for approved cases.
