Entry-Level Welder - Visa Sponsorship & Training

As per the Ministry of Labour Qatar, the minimum basic wage for welders classified as skilled migrant workers is QAR 1,000 per month, plus employer-provided accommodation valued at QAR 400 and food allowance of QAR 300, making a total minimum package of QAR 1,700 as of Cabinet Resolution No. 13 of 2020 effective through 2026. Certified welders with 3+ years experience typically start at QAR 2,500 per month including overtime pay at 125% rate for hours over 48 per week.

Foreign welders require a work residence permit sponsored by a Qatari employer, valid for 1 to 5 years depending on contract length, applied after job offer and medical exam. The employer submits the application to Ministry of Labour within 1 week of arrival, followed by visa stamping at airport valid for 30 days to finalize. No self-sponsored visas for welders.

Welders must have a high school diploma or vocational certificate in welding, plus at least 2 years of documented experience in MIG/TIG/arc welding. Certifications like AWS D1.1 must be attested by the applicant's home country Qatar embassy. Age requirement is 21-50 years for work permit eligibility.

Required documents include passport copy valid 6+ months, attested welding certificates, medical fitness report from approved clinic, employment contract signed by both parties, and employer's commercial registration. Submit to Ministry of Labour online portal; processing takes 3-5 working days with fee of QAR 180 per permit. Police clearance certificate from home country required for first-time applicants.
