Location: Pretoria

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Auto Electrician to join our bus maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems on buses and related commercial vehicles. The role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong technical knowledge, the ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills in both English and Afrikaans.

Key Responsibilities

•Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic systems on buses, including lighting, wiring, alternators, starters, batteries, and control systems.

•Perform fault-finding using modern diagnostic equipment and software.

•Repair or replace defective wiring, connectors, and electrical components.

•Maintain, install, and test vehicle electrical systems, including CAN bus and ECM systems.

•Ensure all repairs meet safety and operational standards.

•Carry out preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections.

•Complete job cards, maintenance records, and reports accurately.

•Assist in training and mentoring junior staff as required.

•Comply with all company safety, environmental, and operational policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

•Qualified Auto Electrician (Trade Test Certificate essential).

•Minimum 5 years’ experience working on buses or heavy commercial vehicles.

•Strong knowledge of modern diagnostic tools and vehicle electrical systems (CAN bus, ECM, multiplex systems, etc.).

•Valid driver’s license (Code 8 or higher).

•Computer literate and familiar with diagnostic software.

•Fluent in English and Afrikaans (spoken and written).
