Job Description
Introduction

A vacancy exists at Mpact Plastic Pinetown for a qualified and experienced Electrician in the Maintenance Department. The incumbent will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and will support all Production Departments.

Duties & Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will be:
• Ensure that the equipment produces the expected efficiency and that all maintenance tasks are performed in accordance with the equipment supplier's safety requirements
• Report all defects and/or conditions preventing the completion of maintenance activities as prescribed by the job card system.
• Assist with projects, repairs of faulty equipment as required
• Work on mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
• Help maintain good housekeeping practices and ensure that the area of responsibility complies with all health and safety regulations and procedures
• Take corrective and preventative action whenever necessary during the execution of duties. Such action may involve reporting the problem to your supervisor to ensure the proper and correct handling of the situation
• Attend to breakdowns and carry out maintenance on plant machinery
• Ensure maximum plant availability by being proactive
• Ensure the safety of people and plant machinery by adhering to company safety procedures

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications:
• Required: Trade papers essential
• Required: Minimum N4 qualification essential
• Preferred: Wireman’s license essential
• Preferred: Electronics qualification essential

Job Requirements:
• 5 - 8 years Electrical experience
• Experience in Pneumatics would be advantageous
• Experience in the Plastic Industry and FMCG advantage
• PLC and Automation/Programming experience
• Ability to work independently
• Needs to have good mechanical aptitude and be prepared to carry out mechanical work.
• Good timekeeping is essential
• Be willing to work overtime and callouts
