Employers verify via MOHRE-approved trade tests if needed. Unskilled laborers without experience are ineligible for skilled carpenter classification.

Required documents include passport valid for 6 months, 4 passport-sized photos, attested academic and experience certificates, employment contract approved by MOHRE, and medical fitness certificate from approved center, as of 2026. The employer submits via MOHRE online portal within 7 days of hiring. Processing takes 5-7 working days for permit issuance.
