Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Structural Steel Fabricator / Welder with experience in MIG and TIG welding to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be able to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings, fabricate structural steel components accurately, and perform high-quality welds in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, fabrication knowledge, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication details
• Fabricate structural steel components according to specifications and production schedules
• Perform MIG and TIG welding on structural steel, stainless steel, and miscellaneous metal components
• Measure, cut, fit, grind, and assemble metal materials using hand and power tools
• Operate fabrication equipment including saws, drills, ironworkers, grinders, and plasma cutting equipment
• Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of fabricated assemblies prior to welding
• Inspect completed work to verify dimensional accuracy and weld quality
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all OSHA safety guidelines and company safety procedures
• Work closely with supervisors, welders, and shop personnel to meet production goals
• Assist with loading, unloading, and movement of fabricated materials when needed
• Perform repairs and modifications to fabricated parts as required

Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 3+ years of structural steel fabrication and welding experience preferred
• Strong ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints required
• Experience with MIG and TIG welding required
• Familiarity with structural steel fabrication processes and shop practices
• Ability to use measuring tools including tape measures, squares, calipers, and levels
• Experience operating fabrication and welding equipment safely
• Knowledge of weld symbols and fabrication tolerances
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with FCAW and stick welding is a plus
• AWS welding certifications preferred but not required
• Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus
• Experience in commercial or industrial structural steel projects preferred

Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift throughout the workday
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Comfortable working in a fabrication shop environment with exposure to heat, noise, and welding fumes
• Ability to wear required PPE including welding hood, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots

Pay: $22.66 - $25.00 per hour
