Job Description
Suerteksa LLC is looking for multiple WELDERS for a shipbuilding project in Philadelphia, PA.

Key Responsibilities:
• Areas of specialization: shipbuilding, structural metal or steel, welding work.
• Grinding of welding seams.
• Welding interior structures, hatches, doors, bulkheads, etc. to complete all of the steel work in the ship.
• Read, interpret, plan and execute from drawings, blueprints, and procedures.
• Instruct and mentor apprentices.

All successful applicants will pass a standard skill checking site test (welding butt weld in 4 positions: upright, vertical up, horizontal and overhead).

Qualifications:
• Requires a minimum of 3 years (including the past year) of experience in fabrication, assembly and fitting in a “new build” shipbuilding environment (shipbuilding experience is a must)
• Completion of vocational, technical school and/or equivalent training or experience

Location, Physical Requirements, and PPE
• Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift up to 50 lbs., be able to push, pull, carry, or maneuver up to 100 lbs. with assistance. Perceive depth, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. May work under difficult lighting and access situations.
• Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders.
• Conditions may include working inside and/or outside. Exposure to extreme hot and cold weather conditions. Work may be performed in hard to reach and/or crawlspaces. May perform work from heights.
• Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job functions include but are not limited to hand tools, power tools.
