Description

Job Summary:
Welders are the primary constructors of vessels at Feldmeier Equipment. The Welder position is quite varied regarding the scope of work performed. Workers who are designated as Welder may also be tasked with other general work tasks not specifically covered under the Welder job description. Tasks may include the following but are not limited to; as job duties may change throughout day depending on the workload.

Requirements
Essential Functions of Position:

Comply with all Feldmeier safety and Company policies and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.

Ability to TIG weld, spot weld and MIG weld stainless steel.

Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.

Layout component locations per instructions.

Prepare work surface via cutting and finishing.

Weld small and large components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions via appropriate welding technique.

Set up and operate equipment for assigned jobs.

Complete housekeeping duties in assigned area or as requested by management.

Complete all required paperwork and properly log time into the MES system, logging on and off.

Minimum Qualifications:

Boces welding certificate or 6 months of welding experience

Previous fabricating experience

Ability to read measuring tapes and operate tools- grinder, and welding torch.

Preferred Qualifications:

2 or more years of TIG experience

Experience welding with different Alloys

Proficiently weld in flat, vertical and overhead positions

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per day.

Occasional lifting, carrying, and maneuvering up to 50 pounds.

Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and platforms for elevated work.

Walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, balancing, stooping, lie down inside or under vessel and twisting while performing required job tasks.

Comfortable in chemically Hazardous Situations.

Being mindful of chemical safety and use proper PPE when required.

Being able to hold a 4-8lb grinder for prolonged periods, while applying force.

Ability to grasp welding torch while welding parts for brief periods to long periods of time.
