Econo Foods, a rapidly expanding FMCG retailer specialising in frozen foods, is looking for a reliable and professional Code 14 Driver to join their Port Elizabeth team. The business is known for delivering quality products at competitive prices while maintaining a strong, people-focused culture.

This role is ideal for an experienced driver who takes pride in safe driving, accurate deliveries, and excellent customer service.

Purpose of the Role

To safely operate the assigned vehicle, conduct daily roadworthiness checks, and ensure accurate, on-time delivery of goods while maintaining high safety and compliance standards. The successful candidate will also play a key role in customer service and effective communication across the operation.

Key Responsibilities
β€’ Safely drive and operate the assigned truck in line with company and road traffic regulations.
β€’ Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle roadworthiness.
β€’ Deliver goods accurately and on schedule.
β€’ Verify delivery documentation and ensure all paperwork is correctly completed and returned.
β€’ Maintain detailed records of mileage, fuel usage, deliveries, and any incidents.
β€’ Communicate professionally with customers, warehouse staff, and management.
β€’ Report mechanical faults and maintenance issues promptly.
β€’ Keep the vehicle clean, organised, and properly equipped.
β€’ Adhere to safety standards and use required PPE at all times.
β€’ Attend team meetings, coaching sessions, and training programmes.
β€’ Contribute to a safe, compliant, and productive working environment.

Minimum Requirements
β€’ Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
β€’ 3–5 years’ proven driving experience (FMCG experience advantageous).
β€’ Valid Code 14 (EC) or Code 10 licence.
β€’ Valid PDP.
